Moving to Revere

Folks have been immigrating to Revere, Massachusetts since before the Revolutionary War. The proximity to Boston’s bustling downtown (just 5 miles away), plethora of job opportunities, and close-knit community feel makes this New England community a popular choice for families and professionals alike.

If you’re considering moving to Revere, you might be asking yourself, “Where can I find a good moving company near me?” Mass Bay Movers has been helping New Englanders move for years, and our commitment to customer service has earned us a 5-star rating from Yelp and Google. When it comes time for your move, trust our professional movers and packers to guide you through the process; you’ll be glad you did.

Haven’t decided on this East Coast community yet? Let us tell you a bit about why you should think about settling in Revere. As you may have guessed, Revere is named after Paul Revere, who is famous for his “midnight ride” during the American Revolution. However, before America gained her independence, the town was originally settled as the town of Rumney Marsh. The community went through several name changes, and was annexed to Boston for a time, before being incorporated as Revere in 1871.

Today, this coastal community has a population of 53,165 people; it has a median age of 39, and about half the residents here are made up of families with kids under 18. Housing here costs more than the national average, but significantly less than housing in Boston proper, making this an attractive choice for families and young professionals who want to find work in the Boston job market, without having to pay the high cost of living there.

A lot of Revere’s appeal comes from how close the municipality is to Boston, but that doesn’t mean life here is boring! One of the best things to do in town is get outside, especially during Spring and Fall, when the New England foliage comes alive. Since the community is literally right along the water, it’s easy to take a stroll along the harbor, or spend the day at the beach when it’s warm. If you’re interested in a hike, you can also head over to the Rumney Marsh Reserve, where you can explore 600 acres of wildlife.
